It’s time for the weekly Friday Four! These are moments from the week behind the scenes at Tura Lura Co. that I want to share with you. Let’s get into it!
Let my mom calligraphy a giftbag for your mom, or loved one! My mom is visiting the studio tomorrow Saturday 4/27 from noon to 4pm, and she is super talented at calligraphy and art. She’ll make your giftbag personalized with a calligraphy name, with any purchase! We have lots of little goodies and things you can pick up for a Mother’s Day gift or graduation gift! Come visit the studio during open hours on Saturday for this special touch on your gifts.
May events are coming up fast at the studio! There are three available opportunities to gather in West Branch, and make an afternoon in the sweetest little town! A Candle Pour Bar + Dried Floral Bar on Saturday 5/4, a Dried Floral Bar on 5/18, and a Candle Pour Bar on 5/25. I love the space and community I am building in West Branch, and so happy when people come to create. And when it’s their first time to town, I love to introduce folks to the best of West Branch. Need a recommendation to explore, for food, or to shop? Feel free to ask!
Last week I shared that I am partnering with my friends at the Iowa City Downtown District - They will be hosting a variety of ticketed workshops and there are still a few tickets remaining for our special event. Join us on Wednesday, May 8 from 6-8pm downtown Iowa City for a special edition of Candle Pour Bar! More information and tickets are found on their website here, and check out photos from their first event from the series. They transformed the “In the Meantime” space into the cutest little hangout.
Earth day was a good chance to set aside the drama with my seedlings. I started fresh with some new heirloom seeds from my favorite local plant shop, and am happy to report that I haven’t fried any plant babies yet. This has been a good opportunity for me to practice a new hobby, to remember the importance of experimentation, and trying something just for the fun of it. I am hopeful that my teddy bear sunflowers make it. More to come.
I am also in the studio today, Friday 4/26 noon to 4pm for walk in hours if you want to sneak away for a little creative afternoon. Otherwise, I hope you have an awesome weekend!
