Tura Lura Co.
The fifth friday four of 2024
New drop online.
Happy Friday! I hope you are gearing up for a wonderful weekend! Let’s get into the four highlights from Tura Lura Co. this week.
First - This week there was a fun drop online, meaning there are new products in the shop! A very special wooden wick candle, and a few new creative kits. If you’ve been on the email list for awhile, you know I love trying new artistic adventures. So I curated some of my favorite things like wax seals, flower pressing, and painting to be DIYs you can do at home. Interested in browsing the new items? Check out the online shop. There is free local pick up/drop off and free shipping over $99.
Second - The sneak peak of the new studio is happening next Wednesday 2/7 at 5:30pm! It’s a special Candle Pour Bar class in West Branch, tickets are available here. I am so excited to see my friends who are making their way out to see the space. It’s been such a labor of love to bring this together, and I’m so honored to host y’all. There are still plenty of things to do before the grand opening and ribbon cutting on 2/24… more details to come on that event :)
Third - The Dried Floral Bar installation is AMAZING. I can’t wait to show it off this month, and release some of the spring workshop dates. With dried florals also come a lot of dried petals, and I’ve begun collecting what I’m lovingly calling flower confetti. So, I have a question for you. I always buy biodegradable paper confetti for NYE and celebrations, but am wondering if you think there would be an interest in flower confetti? It’s compostable, so eco-friendly, and quite beautiful. Let me know your thoughts! Maybe I’ll start saving my flower confetti to share.
Fourth - People always ask me about the name of the company, and it came about because of my kids. Tura Lura is named for an Irish Lullaby - the one my grandmother sang to her girls, they sang it to their kids, and now I sing it to mine. The idea of the company has always been based in love and connection, honoring my family. And our family will be celebrating our 6 year old’s birthday this weekend, so I am looking forward to all the fun that’s about to happen! I hope you have a great weekend too.
Sending you love and light,
Erika
The fourth friday four of 2024
First group to experience our West Branch Studio!
Happy Friday (night)! I hope you are doing something fabulous, or maybe getting cozy and going to wind down soon. I am writing this in my jammies because today flew by, so let’s get into the four highlights from Tura Lura Co. this week.
First - TODAY WAS AMAZING! The first private party joined me in the new West Branch space for a sneak peek Candle Pour Bar, and it felt so good to host them in the studio! I am so grateful that people continue to reach out to host events together, and I love tailoring gatherings to people’s needs. If you want to talk more about setting up a private party, let’s connect!
Second - Do you have some music recommendations you want to share with me? I am updating my playlists for classes, and realized that my phone mostly is flooded with Trolls Movie Soundtrack (from the constant loop it’s on for my kiddos)! I was introduced to SZA this week by the college students I teach, and I want to add some more artists that you are listening to. Send me back your favs!
Third - The vibrant colors and textures from the dried floral coming into the studio are mind blowing. Looking at these stems, you wonder how mother nature can create such beauty from a little seed. I am gearing up for the Dried Floral Bar event at Galentine’s Day - Women in Business where every attendee will get to make a gift from the stem bar. Interested? Make sure to get your ticket!
Fourth - Setting up for today’s private party had me reflecting on the first candle class I hosted. The idea of starting creative classes had been brewing for a long time, and it took space for things to align. You can’t rush the process and you can’t control everything - that is something I continue to remind myself as I gear up for this next step. The thread through the last two years is my intention to create space for others based in connection and love. As the preparation occurs for the grand opening of the studio in a few weeks, I remind myself that how all this looks today may be wildly different 18 months from now. And how cool is that, knowing that things will continue to grow and change?
Sending you love and light, and hopefully a good night of rest.
Erika
The Third friday four of 2024
Dried Floral Bar coming together.
Happy Friday! I am sharing four moments from Tura Lura Co. this week. Let’s get into it!
First - 2024 has been flying by. Has anyone else felt that? I am practicing adaptability this week as things feel slightly chaotic. More snow and cold cancelling kiddo’s school? That’s ok, we got this. Beginning new schedule teaching at the university. Let’s do it! Rescheduled and canceled deliveries… not the best news, but we’ll figure it out. And we continue to figure out more unexpected challenges, because things don’t always go as planned. All the change does allow me to appreciate slowing down and soaking up the moments of quiet and calm (when we can find them).
Second - In the midst of adapting to all the changes, I have been getting things ready in the new space for the Candle Pour Bar special sneak peak class on Wednesday 2/7 at 5:30pm. The early spring Saturday dates for Candle Pour Bar are also now listed on the website page, so you can select from a variety of dates. In this new space we will have over 30 fragrances and lots of jar colors to choose from, so you can really customize your candle. Every time I step into the space and see the wall of choices, I feel so elated thinking of the time we will spend creating here together.
Third - Dried Floral Bar! This week I got to make up some mini bouquets, play with some new ideas, and source the most beautiful local flowers from a new Iowa farm. The workshop dates should be released in February, and the nice thing about the Dried Floral Bar is that you can attend a workshop or it’s also a great activity to stop by and DIY during store open hours. We have so much flexibility with dried florals, I can’t wait to create these with you. If you want to be the first to get an email when workshops are released, get on the email list!
Fourth - Who wants to help celebrate at the Ribbon Cutting? The date is set for Saturday, February 24 at 11:30am at 109 N Downey St (Suite 3) in West Branch. It’ll be a fun little opportunity to see the family and I cut the official ribbon, and then y’all will be welcomed into the studio space for a little tour and to have a slice of cake! There is a Facebook event here, feel free to express interest if you like to add events that way.
Sending you love and light.
