The ninth Friday four of 2024

 Happy Friday! And happy first day of March, thanks to that leap year day! We are celebrating our Friday Four this week with some joyful highlights.

1. We officially opened last weekend which means you can now drop in to the studio during open hours on Fridays and Saturdays! Join me today, Friday 3/1 from noon – 4pm, or Saturday 3/2 from noon to 4pm. Explore making your own candle, reed diffuser, or dried florals and look at the small & mighty retail section. I’ve had so much fun introducing people into some of my favorite crafts in the retail section, like wax stamps and pressing flowers. Read more about dropping into the studio here.

2. After the studio officially opened, we hosted our first baby sprinkle at the West Branch location! The sweet mama to be was sprinkled with love from friends and family, plus everyone got to create a candle and spend time in community with each other. 3. This week I got to post on social media about Ladies Night! What is Ladies Night? It’s a West Branch event happening on Wednesday, March 6. So many businesses and pop ups are participating, so the entire town will be taken over! At Tura Lura Co. you can stop in to make a special bud vase for $18, which includes a sparkly soda or sparkly water. It gets quite busy on Ladies Night, but we will be open a little longer (from 4-8pm) so you can come create!

4. And finally, Tura Lura Co. is having our 2nd birthday this weekend!! Which also will always fall on my birthday weekend. I’ve gotten to share the founding story a lot this past week during the studio opening, the launch of Tura Lura Co. was a complete accidental step that has purposefully grown over the last two years. I wanted to celebrate the birthday with a surprise for customers! Use code CHEERS2U for $4 off your next creative class experience at the West Branch studio location. Drop in to the studio during open hours

Looking for a fun day trip? Let me introduce you to one of the cutest historic downtowns in eastern Iowa… West Branch! Join me at the studio on Fridays and Saturdays for drop in hours! After you spend time at the studio, explore the local shops, visit the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and park grounds, and get a bite to eat at one of the yummy eateries. Need a recommendation? Feel free to ask :)

Here’s what to expect when you visit me at the studio during open hours:

• Dried Floral Bar: You’ll see the colors when you peek in the windows, the dried florals are a vibe. You can pick out your stems to wrap up and take home, or you are welcome to bring the stems to the counter or tables to create! You can bring in your own vase, or purchase one. We have a selection of new and pre-loved vases, there are some wreaths, and you can tie up little mini bouquets to hang. I’m happy to help you arrange in the studio, because creating together is fun. Dried florals can take as little as a few minutes to pick out and wrap up, or you can take your time arranging and creating in studio.

• Reed Diffuser Bar: Just like Candle Pour Bar but with a reed diffuser! Walk up to the counter and you can blend from a selection of 8 fragrances, you can create a custom reed diffuser that will fill your home with fragrance without the flame. This activity can take around 15 minutes and you can immediately take home with you.

• Candle Pour Bar: You may come in to create your own candle during open hours! You get to choose your color jar and select from over 30 fragrances. When you are coming to make your candle, please give yourself 2 hours from start to finish! It’ll take about 15-30 minutes to make your candle, depending on how busy the studio is, then it will take a full 60 + minutes to cure before you can take it home. While the candle dries, you are welcome to just be in the studio, or you can stroll main street.

The eighth Friday four of 2024

Happy Friday! The Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening in West Branch is tomorrow and I am going to be spending the whole day today (Friday!) getting ready at the studio… Let’s get into the four highlights from Tura Lura Co. this week!

First - On Monday, I welcomed in local business owners and community leaders from West Branch to the studio to host a special night of candle making and connection. I walked away inspired by the work and projects people are pursing, and so excited to partner and collaborate. If you aren’t already connected with the Main Street West Branch website (links there to their social accounts) that’s the best way to find out about all the upcoming town events!

Second - Tomorrow is the grand opening of the studio! I’ve talked a lot about this during the last few emails, and more information about the ribbon cutting is here. The big thing I want to share - anyone who visits in person during the grand opening tomorrow will receive a special coupon code to use on a creative class in West Branch! I have never done coupon codes for workshops before, so this is a huge deal :)

Third - If you’ve been to a workshop with me before, you may know that I love a good giveaway. It’s delightful! And I know not everyone can make it in person tomorrow, so I decided the Grand Opening Giveaway would be for the first 6 weeks so more people get the opportunity to visit and participate. The way to enter is super simple! Visit the studio during open hours by April 6, get a physical giveaway ticket in the studio, follow the instructions and fill it out, and put the giveaway ticket in the gold basket! The prize of the Grand Opening Giveaway is a special 2 person private candle making event at the studio. I am so excited to have a space where we can do private parties, date nights, friend nights and celebrations. Who would you do a special private event with? Winner will be announced the week of April 8.

Fourth - This week the creative class schedule got an update! You can currently find the open spring classes for both Candle Pour Bar and Dried Floral Bar here. We are kicking off Dried Floral Bar workshop on Saturday, March 23 at 3pm with a fun spring arrangement in the cutest 4 inch gold disco ball vases. It’ll be bright and fun, and I can’t wait to gather and create in the West Branch studio with folks.
