The 26th Friday Four

Welcome in to the studio! This space is for all of us.

The 26th Friday Four of 2024! We are halfway through the year! It’s going by fast, and this series is simply the weekly highlights from behind the scenes at Tura Lura Co. Let’s get into it!

  1. I am pumped for our creative class tonight in West Branch! Pour + Restore is Candle Pour Bar plus a gentle yoga class in the national park down the block from the studio. And… today started out super rainy so we will see if the grass in the park dries by 7pm. I am not too worried, our backup plan is just as restorative. I love having coloring sheets and friendship bracelet materials on hand to craft while we talk, and we have a little room in studio to move and stretch. So if you are signed up, I can’t wait to see you! And, hopefully the next Pour + Restore in July gets a sunny day so we can do yoga in the park!

  2. The July schedule is posted and hosts more creative classes to sign up for including Pour + Restore, Candle Pour Bar, and Dried Floral Bar! The open walk in day for the month in West Branch is Wednesday, July 10 from 4-7pm. If you plan things a little further out, keep your eye open for the email next Friday, as it’ll have the August schedule!

  3. As a small business, Tura Lura is constantly adapting. This little business started out as an artist grant, turned into a handmade company, and has evolved into a studio for handcrafted creativity. This journey has unlocked my own interests, I’ve really begun to explore and learn things I was always curious about. While welding is still on my bucket list, I don’t see that as a class I’ll be offering anytime soon. But Perfume Bar, a class to design and make your own fragrance? I am adding it to the lineup. Think Candle Pour Bar but with personal perfumes and body mists. I need your help though, what questions do you have about a Perfume Bar experience? Thanks for responding and sending me your questions!

  4. During the last two years, I have also been constantly adapting. Last week presented a new challenge in business, with a delightful result. My email platform glitched, and the 25th Friday Four posted but didn’t email. A few years ago, my need for perfection would have driven me a bit bonkers in this situation. But the last few years of learning with Tura Lura Co. has given me a bit more moxy. I simply looked into the issue, investigated potential solutions, made a decision to let it be and moved on. And the next day I was like… oh my gosh, who am I? I don’t have a stomach ache, this isn’t bothering me. While this sounds small, the idea that we can keep learning and growing as adults is pretty darn cool. Do you have any examples of how you’ve grown lately? I’d love to hear more.

Enjoy the weekend + happy Friday!

The 25th Friday Four

Welcome in to the studio! This space is for all of us.

The 25th Friday Four of 2024! This series is simply weekly highlights from behind the scenes at Tura Lura Co. Let’s get into it!

  1. It’s hard to believe we had the summer solstice yesterday! It’s amazing how quickly we went through spring, with the days lengthening and giving us more light. My seedlings are now plants outside, that have been growing strong. We have flowers getting close to bloom. There are pumpkin babies EVERYWHERE. And I’m hoping my vegetable plants soon produce some edible items! The change to summer feels fantastic, and the summer schedule at the studio has been a great pace.

  2. The last two open June events that are happening with Tura Lura Co. occur next week! Join me at Glamping hosted at Palmer House in Solon on Wednesday, June 26 or for Pour + Restore in West Branch on Friday, June 28. I’ve been busy prepping for all the upcoming events and parties! Plus, the July schedule is posted and hosts more creative classes to sign up for including Candle Pour Bar, Pour + Restore, and Dried Floral Bar!

  3. I have been experimenting a lot lately, mini little tests with supplies and experiences. I go down rabbit holes of learning new things, and am currently training in perfumes. I threw a poll up on Instagram and got responses, but I know there are folks on the email list that don’t do social. So I would like to get feedback from here too! My question for you is if you would be interested in a Perfume Bar, a class to design and make your own fragrance? Think Candle Pour Bar but with personal perfumes. Can you hit reply and let me know if that’s an interest or not for you (and why)? Thanks for sharing, it means so much!

  4. Speaking of experimenting, I have been trying out a lot of new jars for candle and reed diffuser classes, as well as some new fragrances to add to the lineup. I love to hear from folks on what your favorite scents are. If you haven’t shared with me your favorite smell, please let me know! I love to gather that and try to find things to add to the fragrance line up! Also, I have a coupon code for one of my favorite candle suppliers. If you are looking to make at home and want to order some items, let me know and I’ll send you the code!

Enjoy the sun my friend! Happy Friday!

The 24th Friday Four

Welcome in to the studio! This space is for all of us.

The 24th Friday Four of 2024! This series is simply weekly highlights from behind the scenes at Tura Lura Co. Let’s get into it!

  1. Kick off to Summer in West Branch happened last weekend, and it was so fun to meet new folks during the open hours! If you are new to the email list from signing up at that event, check out the upcoming classes and walk in open hours on the “Visit the Studio” page and reach out to me with any questions about Tura Lura Co!

  2. This week Tura Lura Co. hosted a few private parties to celebrate milestones and birthdays! I love helping people create a memorable event, and am looking forward to all the celebrations coming up this summer! There are openings available for July onwards to host a private party, and I am always happy to email or schedule a Google Meet Call to answer your questions.

  3. Pour + Restore will be happening later this month, and I am getting very excited! This event is a special version of Candle Pour Bar with a gentle yoga class in the National State Park. I have been in the park a lot lately, practicing and trying out different shady areas. I love that the studio is just a block from entering the park, and there is always so much to do with the neighboring Presidential Museum. If you haven’t made it out to West Branch yet, put the Hoover Presidential Library and Museum, as well as the park, on your visit list! My 6 year old and I went to the exhibits this week, and also spent another day just enjoying the park then getting some ice cream. The more time I spend in West Branch, the more I am amazed with all the gems this town has!

  4. After the big event in West Branch this past weekend, I kept things on sale on the website! A few of my favorite things to use at home lately are the Flower Press Kit (and frame) to create beautiful flower art with my kids, the Modern Calligraphy kit to practice my hand lettering, and the gardening journal to track those seedlings I started (they are thriving in the garden, by the way). While I am mostly running events these days and not out selling goods at markets, I do keep a small retail section of things I love to use and gift. If any of the sale items catches your eye then use the automatic free shipping over $99 (otherwise it’s a $15 flat rate box from USPS), and if you are local we can coordinate a pick up.

That’s all for this summer week, I can’t believe we are coming up to the summer solstice and the halfway mark of the year!

Happy Friday!

Erika
